Design Alaska is looking for a self-motivated and adaptable Civil Engineer to join our team. Design Alaska is a full service Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying firm that provides commercial and institutional design services throughout Alaska. Civil Engineering duties typically include:

• Travel to investigate existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access
• Design of minor roadways, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access
• Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, and hazardous material impact on design
• Preparation of written analyses of solutions and construction specifications
• Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals, and site inspections

Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Civil Engineer applicants:

• Demonstrate ability to self-learn diverse topics over the breath of civil and environmental engineering
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar software experience
• Works effectively within team environments
• Driven, focused, and manages time well
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Currently living in Alaska
• Construction industry related work experience
