Structural EIT duties typically include:

• Structural Analysis: Analysis of both individual building components and analysis of complete building systems using a combination of modeling
• software and manual calculation.
• Seismic Design: Alaska's high seismic regions require a passion for seismic design and detailing of all construction types.
• On-site condition assessments and construction observation.
• Drafting & 3D modeling: Construct models using the latest FEM analysis software and BIM applications.

Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Structural EIT applicants:

• A degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering course work.
• Eager to pursue your Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alaska.
• Demonstrate a high-level understanding of structural system concepts.
• A passion for community-focused structural design projects throughout Alaska.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excitement for learning new skills and working collaboratively in team settings.
