Design Alaska is a multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering, and land surveying firm based in Fairbanks, Alaska, dedicated to creating spaces that strengthen our communities. Civil Engineer duties typically include: 

• Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
• Interpretation of geotechnical data for analysis of ground improvement solutions appropriate to the project.
• Design of minor roadways and access drives, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access.
• Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design.
• Preparation of project narratives and written analyses of proposed design solutions
• Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals and progress inspections.
• Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits.

Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Civil Engineer applicants: 

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Civil Professional Engineer (PE) or willing to pursue PE license in Alaska.
• Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Currently living in Alaska
• Construction industry related work experience
